Now what?

Sometimes there’s a season in our lives that we have more time then we’re accustomed to; more problems than we want; or less money than is needed to balance our budget. It is during this time that we often find ourselves in a quandary and need some guidance for this challenging season of our life.

Use the steps the widow from Zarephath (1 Kings 17) utilized to gain success and provision.

1) Keep working even during the struggle (v 10):

Though her husband had died, the widow knew if she didn’t work, they wouldn’t eat. Keep plugging away, trying and watch God send help.

2) Keep being obedient to what’s required (v 10-11):

Even when you don’t know who or why, just continue to keep God’s commands.

3) Be honest about your plight (v 12):

Don’t think God will supply the man full of lies. Be forthright and open to those you can trust or those God has sent in your mist.

4) Realize what you need is more than what you got (v 13-14):

Understand to get to the land flowing with milk and honey, you are going to have to leave your current location and make your way (by faith) to a better place.

If you follow these principles, you won’t be saying “Now what?”, but say what….!

Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”

Pastor Kirkland A. Smith
