When you really think about it, their birthday only comes around one time a year, and others didn't make it that far this year, so I guess they do have a reason to celebrate. Some children who started school with their kids didn't finish, so again they do have reason to celebrate. And obviously we know some marriages didn't last the 5, 10, or the 15 years you're celebrating. Truth be told, some were in trouble 15 minutes after they started, so we all should celebrate a man and women staying together, thus keeping the family intact and God's original model of marriage visible to all.
But, even though I will have a birthday this year, I will have another year of marriage, and if the Lord says the same will have a child graduating high school this year, there's still something more important for me, it is in my understanding in 2013 then every before? And that is that GOD KNOWS MY NAME!
Now that may not seem like much to you, but to me that’s something to celebrate. It's not like he's heard my name in passing, but He intimately knows who I am. See because he knows my name there's blood sprinkled over my doorpost (Exodus 12:7, 12-13) and whenever devastation, financial calamity, and utter chaos try to come in, the Lord God almighty keeps it outside my jurisdiction. When sexual perversion, drug, and alcohol addiction, and homosexuality try to come in and destroy the mind of those living within my home; my God will thwart the plans of the devil, and allow His people to keep moving to their Promised Land.
I don't have to book a location for the party, because my mansion is being built as we speak (John 14:2), God's son, Jesus is taking care of all the arrangements. My mind will be the photographer for I will never grow old, with my new resurrected body (Revelations 21:4), and the party invite is going out right now. But it's not saying come to my party, but it's saying there's a party for all, "Come unto me all who are wearied and heavy laden and I will give you rest"(Matthew 11:28), this can be a shared party if you confess and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, then you too will be saved. (Romans 10:13).
Then we'll all have a reason to celebrate! Make your calling and election sure this year and Celebrate Good Times Come On,
Happy New Year
