Solomon teaches God’s people a lot of principles in this second chapter of the Proverbs about moving your entire being in the direction of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. There are too many people, especially grown folks, which are operating in ignorance when the necessary information is accessible and available for them to utilize; thus keeping them in lives of despair, discouragement, and distress! How you may ask? Watch this simple principle (Proverb) and see what you get from it!
Many students have just finished their most recent year of school. This year included many days of study and classes, many homework assignments, many group projects, and many quizzes. The year (semester) usually concludes with what the teachers calls a final exam, which encompasses all of what a student has learned thus far this year. If the student passes the final, they pass the class! Some students may do well with the homework, quizzes, and group projects; but if they don’t pass their final, they will flunk the course, only to have to take it again next year. For the true test of absorbing the material is not in homework or quizzes, but in the final. For those who pass the final, they have a summer of rest (break), in which they can just enjoy the fruits of their labor and wait until the new year (semester) begins. Can you already begin to see with wisdom where I’m going ???????
Well if you can’t that’s ok, let me help you:
Many of us in our lives are currently going thru a storm(s). You thought it was just a difficult time in your life, and never considered it a time of knowledge attainment. This storm has caused you to learn lessons (study) along the way, have to work with others (group projects) in order to proceed thru it, and handle and respond to topics (quizzes) while yet going thru it. You are now at the point that it’s nearing the end, and you will either thru faith make it victoriously, because you now understand the purpose of the storm and have learned from it, or you will succumb to the pressure and fail this test miserably, only to have to revisit this situation again. But if you pass this test, you will have a season of rest, in which you can enjoy your summer, for your work for this season is over.
Which one are you? The person who is:
A. Knowledgeable and attaining information for God and others; Or the person who:
B. Identifies with every storm in which they are connected to.
I’m pressed on every side, but not crushed , perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not abandoned, struck down, but not destroyed (2 Cor 48-9).
God is holding victory for you and will protect you during the battle (Prov 2:8). Trust Him, His words are true. He has the power to do what He says He can do (Rom 4:21). Walk by faith and enjoy your summer vacation along with the kids!
You’ve got to believe it, in order to achieve it.
